TV3’s ‘Blind Date’ proved a hit with audiences last night as 266,000 on average tuned in to see funnyman Al Porter play matchmaker to some of Ireland’s most hopeful singletons!With lots of cheesy one-liners, the first episode of the iconic dating show reached over 550,000 viewers across the hour, with viewing peaking at 307,000.Pop maestro Louis Walsh, comedian Jason Byrne, West End star Denise Van Outen and outspoken American TV personality Michelle Visage were confirmed as the show’s four judges with TV3’s own Lucy Kennedy acting as host of the show.Getting on the Love Island bandwagon, Maia Dunphy will host ‘Heartbreak Hotel – an uplifting show will see heartbroken singletons gather for a weekend retreat to face their true issues and reasons why they have been so unlucky in love!
Each week, contestant Kathy selects one of two men to leave the island where they're casually gallivanting around with their coconuts hanging out.
The next day, a new nude dude arrives and the games begin again.
